Blackwater / Greywater Green Home & Community Solutions

Greywater is wastewater generated from domestic activities such as laundry, dishwashing, and bathing, which can be recycled on-site for uses such as landscape irrigation and constructed wetlands. Greywater differs from water from the toilets which is designated sewage or blackwater to indicate it contains human waste.

There are many ways at home to treat & re use grey water for indoor plants, flushing toilets, ambient water falls & exterior green houses or plant beds. This takes the load off of the environment… by reusing you increase your resources. This also help lower the co2 or carbon imprint you make on this planet.

Blackwater is a term dating to at least the 1970s[1] used to describe wastewater containing fecal matter and urine. It is also known as brown water, foul water, or sewage. It is distinct from greywater or sullage, the residues of washing processes.

Black water can be treated outdoors on site in many different ways. The choice I feel is best for the planet is using composting toilets. The compost can be used for non edible plants or help in the generation of methane through a bio -digester. I believe having a community biodigester is the best way to keep our planet clean & produce a fuel which has many uses. Methane gas can be used in gas ovens, electric generators, transportation, refrigeration, & so forth.

Anaerobic digestion(Biodigester) is a series of processes in which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. It is used for industrial or domestic purposes to manage waste and/or to release energy.

Anaerobic digestion is widely used as a source of renewable energy. The process produces a biogas, consisting of methane, carbon dioxide and traces of other ‘contaminant’ gases. This biogas can be used directly as cooking fuel, in combined heat and power gas engines or upgraded to natural gas-quality biomethane. The use of biogas as a fuel helps to replace fossil fuels. The nutrient-rich digestate also produced can be used as fertilizer.

Using these natural technologies we can get off of fossil fuel. No more coal burning plants & more nutrients for our green Gaia. For each green solution we implement we make a better world. We need to live in a sustainable way in order to give life to future generations. At the moment we are taking away our future through over consumption & lack of a functioning global recycling network.

Building homes which use the local resources & recycling everything is a first step towards hope. Growing food in & outside of your home. Not allowing a carbon imprint or being minimal in that department. Reusing water for a cleaner & more efficient lifestyle. Using solar wind & hydro whenever possible. Building earth sheltered homes to connect with the planet & not use heating or cooling energy as much as possible. This will insure a future for your kids, grand kids, & generations to come.

The technology exist in Earthships & underground hybrid earthships to live this way.
